We need to take care of so many things, recheck everything starting from your households to itineraries. You might find yourself sleep-deprived the night before your trip and too sleepy before starting your trip. Remember, even though the anxiety is normal but there is no need to take extra stress.
Here are some pointers on the things you should do on the day before your trip.
1. Check Your House

The first step is to carefully check on every household item. Make sure that you have switched the gas off, you have disconnected all the electronic appliances. Water your plants and ask your neighbor or someone who is trustworthy to come and water them every day. Clear your fridge because you wouldn’t want to waste the food. Always give a spare key to your house to a trustworthy neighbor or relatives in case of emergency.
2. Keep Your Documents Ready

The most important item during traveling is the travel documents. Check whether you have taken the documents or not. Keep the passport, visas, and your tickets in your handbag. Do not forget to take your id proofs with you. It is always a wise idea to make a xerox of your id proofs and carry them while traveling. Also, leave some of the xeroxes at home.
3. Charge Your Gadgets

The journey is a long part of traveling and sometimes the train or plane ride can be a boring one. You surely wouldn’t like to travel without using your phones be it for playing games, reading eBooks, or chatting with friends. Imagine finding a picturesque view while traveling but not being able to click a picture because your battery died! So always keep your phones and cameras fully charged before leaving for the trip and don’t forget to carry your charger.
4. Utilize Your Wi-Fi Connection

As long as you are at home you should utilize your wi-fi connection in every possible way. While traveling you might not get a good internet connection throughout and you should prepare yourself for that. Back up your gallery, download the movies, buy the eBook you want to read. Don’t give yourself the chance to regret it later.
5. Check Your Wallet

Even though you can easily roam around cashless because internet banking has made it really easy, you should always carry some cash for safety purposes. The small street shops are still not technologically advanced and they accept only cash. Check whether you are carrying your credit/debit cards or not and also check the balance in your cards. If you find out that you are short on money while traveling then it might cause a little problem. So, check your balance and in case you need to carry more money just visit the bank.
6. Pay All Your Bills

Adulting is not easy. In our childhood days, it was so much fun to travel because we had zero responsibilities. But as an adult, you need to take care of a lot of things before leaving your house to have fun. Check whether you have paid all your bills or not. You wouldn’t want to come back home and sit without electricity or internet all day long. So, just find out a time and sit with your bills and check whether anything is due or not. Pay your bills before leaving for your trip and don’t keep them for the last hour.
7. Check Your Medical Kit

Medical Kit is a very important part of your luggage before going for a trip. You should always visit a doctor some days prior to your trip to check whether you are perfectly fine or not. Even if you are fine, headaches, diarrhea, fever are some common sicknesses that can occur during your trip. So even though you have already taken these medicines while packing, you should check them again. Check the expiry dates and whether you have sufficient medicine or not. Carry your prescription or note down the names of the medicines in case you have to buy any of them during the trip.
8. Check The Weather of Your Destination

We always plan our trips in the month where we will get pleasant weather. But weather can be unpredictable and it is always better to check the weather forecast beforehand. It is necessary because we can stuff our luggage with some extra items according to the weather. A hat for sunny weather, a raincoat for rainy one and an extra jacket for cold weather.
9. Stop Newspaper Subscription

Even though we read all the news from our phones but we always follow the old school ways. Newspaper subscription is a very common thing in an Indian family. Wake up in the morning, open your door, and there you will have your daily dose of things happening around you. So before leaving for the trip do not forget to cancel your newspaper subscription. Otherwise, you will end up wasting your money and also the effort of your delivery man.
10. Get Proper Sleep

Yes, it is almost impossible to get proper sleep before the night of your trip, but it is important. The excitement, anxieties, and all the emotions get mixed up and make us sleep-deprived, but if you want to have a memorable trip you should keep yourself fit and energetic. Along with taking care of your household activities and all your bills take good care of your body. Drink water and sleep properly.
The day before your trip is always going to be a hectic one. Take deep breaths and check your to-do list properly. Keep calm and work according to that list. Some additional works will be clearing your garbage box, doing your laundry, and not keeping any clothes on the balcony. Before leaving lock all your wardrobes properly and give a spare key to your neighbor and have a stress-free safe trip.
